Executive Board


Orin Kurtz- Board Chair & Executive Board Member: Orin Kurtz is an attorney practicing in New York City. Orin is also a musician; before going to law school he obtained a degree in music and spent years performing. Orin remains active in music and the arts. In addition to his work with ITE, he is a supporter of Bodystories: Teresa Fellion Dance.

Kevin Bachman- Advisory Board Member: Kevin Bachman received his Bachelor of Arts in Dance from SUNY Purchase. He has performed in both the concert and commercial worlds. In 2012 he completed his Yoga Teacher Certification at Yoga People, Brooklyn and teaches at NuYu Revolution.  He is currently employed by the Design Division of OshKosh B’Gosh/Carter’s. Mr.Bachman is a fervent advocate of ITE’s vision and inevitable impact.

Marcie Brown Carter- Executive Board Member: Received her J.D. from Indiana University Maurer School of Law in Bloomington and her B.A. in History and Political Science also from IU. She has worked in education policy for over ten years in federal and state government and in private consulting. She currently serves as Deputy Chief of Staff to Indiana Superintendent of Public Instruction Dr. Tony Bennett. Previously, she worked as Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels’ Education Policy Director and also at the U.S. Department of Education in Washington, D.C. She also currently serves on the Indianapolis Mayor’s Charter School Advisory Board- the only mayor in the country who has the authority to charter schools. She enjoys many art forms, including musical theater, visual art, and dance, and looks forward to making contributing to future great artists with ITE.

Michael Carter- Executive Board Member: Michael Carter received his J.D. in 2010 from Indiana University School of Law-Indianapolis and his B.A. in Global Politics and Environmental Issues from the University of Michigan in 2000.  Mike currently helps guide global emissions compliance strategy in his role as Global Emissions Compliance Manager at Cummins, Inc.  Prior to working at Cummins, Mike worked in government and politics in a variety of roles, including Deputy Director of the Greater Indianapolis Progress Committee for the Indianapolis Mayor’s Office and as Special Assistant to the Chairman of the Democratic National Committee during the 2000 Presidential election.

Rebecca Kellogg- Executive Board Member: Received her Master of Arts in Business Education from New York University and a Bachelor of Arts in English and Comparative Cultures from Whittier College. Her professional career has included management positions in finance, higher education, and recruitment consulting. She has been recognized for her leadership in the academic and for-profit sectors, and since 2005, has overseen global projects related to corporate Diversity, Social Responsibility, and Workforce Planning in London, Zurich, and New York.  A lover of dance and art, Ms. Kellogg serves as treasurer of the Elisa Monte Dance Company Junior Board and as an ITE Advisory Board member. She is dedicated to cross-cultural education through interdisciplinary artistic expression, and is an avid supporter of the ITE founders.

Adetokumboh M’Cormack- Executive Board Member: Adetokumboh M’Cormack is an actor-writer-producer who currently resides in Los Angeles, California. His interest in dramatics began early, and at twelve, was scouted by a Kenyan casting director and starred in Hallmark Entertainment’s MOW The Great Elephant Escape, by veteran Scottish director George Miller and starring Joseph Gordon Levitt.

After starring in several local films and numerous commercials, Adetokumboh went on to study at the prestigious Conservatory of Theatre Arts and Film at SUNY Purchase, where he enrolled in the Acting Program. He excelled as a student and was an active member of the student body. He was the founding member of the University’s first International Student’s Association and represented his Conservatory as a senator in the Student Government. In his final year at the university, he received the President’s Award for Achievement in Acting and graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree.

Adetokumboh’s screen credits include the Academy Award nominated movie, Blood Diamond where he starred alongside Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Connelly and Djimon Hounsou as well as a starring role as the leader of the Sudanese freedom fight in the Barna Alper / Little Bird Film’s epic, Whiskey Echo. He has also made numerous television appearances on hit TV shows such as Cold Case, Without a Trace, The Unit and a recurring role on ABC’s hit TV show Lost, playing Yemi, a priest and brother to Adewole Akinnuoye-Agbaje’s character, Mr. Eko. He has also had notable recurring roles TV shows such as Heroes, Gilmore Girls and 24. He next appears in the Columbia Pictures sci-fi epic, “Battle:  Los Angeles” which is set to hit theatres in March of 2011.

Marcya Carter Sheats-Executive Board Member: Received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan. Her professional career has included positions in Accounting, Six Sigma, Program Management, Risk Management and Business Intelligence. She has lived and traveled around the world and has been exposed to art from various cultures. Travel has increased her passion, awareness and appreciation of art. Her husband, Jamaal Sheats, is an artist based out of Nashville, TN. Marcya joined ITE as a way to give back to the artist community and support the aspirations of artists like her husband.

Paul Ukena- Executive Board Member: received a Bachelor of Arts from Oberlin College and a Master of Fine Arts in Acting and Directing from Sarah Lawrence College. He spent almost 20 years in the professional theatre in New York City, acting on Broadway, off-Broadway, and regional theatres, and then moved to New Mexico, where he taught theatre classes at the University of New Mexico, College of Santa Fe (where he directed Fiddler on the Roof with his wife and colleague, Rima Vargas-Vetter), and Albuquerque T-VI. In 1996, having spent 12 years teaching himself to fix computers, he joined with a partner and created MacMechanix, Inc., as a consultant for clients who use Macintosh computers for personal use and business; he was responsible for helping them set up computer systems, networks, and for troubleshooting and repairing hardware and software problems. He has known Tiffany Rea and Mattew Fisher since they were dancers with Elisa Monte Dance, for which his wife Rima is currently the Board Chair.

Emily Cavanagh Videtto- Executive Board Member: Received her B.A. from Indiana University in English; she also has a Certificate from the Liberal Arts and Management Program, a selective division of the Kelly School of Business at IU and was a member of the Honors College. In 2012, she graduated from the Harvard Business School’s Program for Leadership Development, a highly competitive and comprehensive leadership program.

Emily has over a decade of experience working as a marketing executive focused in the building materials industry; currently, she is the Vice President of Shingles and New Product Development for GAF Materials Corporation.  Throughout her tenure at GAF, Emily’s focus on creating and designing new, innovative products has translated into multiple patents for products sold throughout North America. She has also served as an industry expert on multiple national televisions shows including “Curb Appeal”, “The Balancing Act”, “Having it All with Niki Taylor”, and “Orange County Choppers”.

With a background in theater, dance, and voice, Emily has a passion for helping provide a platform for artists to further their artistic development.

Drew Vogt – Executive Board Member: Drew Vogt- Executive Board  Member: received his Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from San Diego State University. He began his professional career at a Big Four accounting firm in San Diego, where he specialized in the biotech and financial services industries. Since transferring to New York, he spends his time boxing, playing soccer and capturing the city sights through his passion for photography. Drew is a newly joined board member who is looking forward to a great first year with ITE!
