Artist Emergency Fund Information

ITE Emergency Fund

In keeping with ITE’s mission to support the local NYC arts community our Emergency Fund was created in 2014 to provide prompt financial support to artists in the fields of modern/contemporary dance, music and film. The grant range for the 2015/16 year is $200-$1000. This fund is dedicated to artists who:

  • Have unanticipated, unexpected opportunities to present their work to the public
  • Incur unforeseen or unbudgeted expenses for projects close to completion with committed performance dates

“Emerging” Artists are given priority. Emerging artists are considered organizations that have been in operations for 10 years or less. Organizations who are supported through NYSCA are ineligible for this fund.

ITE’s Emergency Fund does NOT provide support for the following:

  • Support for projects with no scheduled exhibition or performance dates
  • Educational programming
  • Tours that include performances outside of New York City
  • Competitions or Residency fees
  • Life-related emergencies
  • Reimbursement for expenses incurred in the past
  • Student productions

Eligibility requirements:

  • Funded performances must occur in the New York City area
  • Applicants must apply with an organization. Individuals will not be considered
  • Successful applicants to the Emergency Grants program may not reapply for 2 years after award

 When to Apply:

Emergency Fund grants are reviewed in August and grant awardees are notified by September 1st. The 2015/16 awards have all ready been decided. For 2016/17 the application deadline is August 1st.

 Notification:

Receipt of your application will be acknowledged via email.  Please do not contact ITE about the status of your application.  Grant checks are mailed to awardees within two weeks of acceptance.
